Goodbye Boise

HELLO!

Last week we tried to go sledding (Just like every other week) but there was TOO MUCH SNOW!

That being said we will try again today.

Other than that this week has flown by. Why? BOISE TRIP THAT'S WHY! It has been brought to my attention that every trip to Boise from here on out could be the last time I ever see that beautiful metropolis in my life (that is what the subject line means, so don't panic). With all of the traffic, and people, and traffic. The only downside being the traffic of course.

We did run into the very isolated Boise Spanish Missionaries though! (Pic at top of blog)

The trip was made better by the fact that I got to go with good ole Elder Woodin, who just got transferred out of our district less than two weeks ago. He thought he escaped an exchange this transfer...

 ...he did not.

Right after that trip we went on exchanges with the Zone Leaders, I was once again with Elder Miller. By the time we got up to Hailey it was dark. Elder Miller hadn't seen this much snow on his mission so lo aprovechamos.

We also got stuck in the snow, so that wasn't as nice, luckily we have a ward mission leader with a diesel truck and a tow strap to save the day.

Top Spiritual experience of the week: The Spirit can soften people's hearts!  We found this man, let’s call him Jose, who was excited to let us in his house but once we were inside he became very hostile. But he clearly had no idea who we were or what we were teaching. As we began to explain why we were there and bore testimony of what we were teaching his entire body changed, he was listening and he didn't interrupt us at all. When we finished he tried to speak but had difficulty getting the words out. He and his wife agreed to read the Book of Mormon and invited us back.

Love all of you! Have a good, safe week!

 Q & A

1. Do you need anything?
Not right now! We are still chomping away at the chips and the lightbulbs work!

2. Best day this week?

The trip to Boise this week was cool. Any trip to Boise now could be the last time I go! It was still an exhausting trip though.

3. What did you learn this week?

The Spirit can change people if they aren't hardened against it. We found this man, lets call him Jose, who was excited to let us in his house but once we were inside he became very hostile.

4. What made you laugh this week?

Well, we got stuck in the snow and had to call our ward mission leader to pull us out. That caused more nervous laughter than anything. We were also doing some service helping to dig up a busted sewer line (Just for a laundry room) and we found out that it wasn't busted, they never finished it. So we just dug a big hole around it so the water would just drain into the ground.

5. Best meal this week?

We had some Salmon last night that was really good!

6. When is Zone Conference?

January 29th.

7. P day plans today?

We are planning on sledding! Hopefully they have it packed down now!

8. Spiritual thought for the day?

We watched the devotional with Elder and Sister Renlund last night. It was good. They talked about Doubts and Faith and had a good analogy about a boat.

9. How are your winter workouts going?

Pretty good. Lots of Burpees. The sisters have a treadmill in their house now, idk if they use it. We were tempted to take it when we found out the Elders were leaving but we didn't have any idea where we could put it. Our house could easily be one of those IKEA showroom thingys.

10. Most common member meal served in your current area?

I can't identify anything consistent right now. We haven't had the same thing twice in a row this past week. We still get a good serving of various Peruvian foods though.

Ok, I'll work on my weekly email now! Love you!

- Spencer

PS (Tomorrow will be my 17-months out day, LOCURA!)
