Time Out Please, Ocho?

Hey! It's Christmastime here. It didn't even wait until Thanksgiving was over! SNOW! Last preparation day was a strange one because half of our district was literally all the way in Africa. So we didn't do anything special. We did go to the river at the end of preparation day (5:30, it was already dark, and very cold)   Can You See How Cold It Is?    District Activity Oh, and how can I forget? We got transfer calls and we are both STAYING another 6 weeks here! They changed our area a bit, we no longer have to go all the way down to Shoshone, but we now also have another set of elders in our district, so that will be fun! Staying!  We did some more service splitting and stacking wood, and we also got to help burn some wood too. Elder Silva had some pants that were ruined. So in honor of his recently passed 18-month mark, fueron quemados. ( they were burned , but in Peruvian) Liar Liar Fire and Ice

Hola everybody! This was the last week of the transfer, meaning it was the most eventful. I have no idea why it happens like that, it just does.  Funny story of the week:  We found this guy from Mexico who moved here from Texas (he spoke mostly English to us). He was very drunk, but it was ok because he was happy drunk. He said he was Catholic but believed more in Hinduism. As we talked to him he unwittingly recounted the Restoration of the Gospel to us. His version consisted of all of the points of the restoration lesson from the beginning up until the great apostasy, but with a whole lot more profanity.  We asked him if we could come back when he wasn't drunk because anyone who can cover that much of the first lesson we normally teach whilst being completely hammered at least deserves to learn about the Word of Wisdom. Oh yeah, there was more too... He went to the Russia world cup. So the other thing that blew his mind was that I could read the Cyri

All I have to say is transfers are next week and if I have to leave there will be weeping/wailing/gnashing of teeth. I'll get over it eventually, but I will have to listen to "I'll Go Where You Want Me to Go" on repeat for the first few weeks. We did service splitting and stacking wood. Then we delivered it to a house north of Ketchum.  Logs Trust me, it was a lot more fun than it sounds.  It has also been a really good week for teaching the Gospel. We managed to find almost 10 people who wanted to learn more in just the last two days of the week. So that turned this past week around quickly. Then we had 4 people come to church. The total number of new people we were able to have at church this transfer is now 4!!! (THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE HAD ANYBODY!) We also got to talk to a recent convert from one of my previous areas! He is really busy right now, but in the next few weeks hopefully we will get to keep teaching him! The other
