Water Heaters



Hello!

Easter was yesterday, it was a really good day. The two sacrament meetings we had were very good and one lady who came for the first time wants to learn more!

We had a very eventful week. Our water heater broke (I need to stay away from those things). But it got replaced the same day, so that is nice. We ended up helping someone drain a water heater in their basement so they could replace the heating elements. This was the same day our water heater broke. Then, there were 4 times that water heaters came up in a discussion (before we brought up that ours had broken). 

We were supposed to learn about water heaters that day.

So, here is a gospel message about water heaters.

The world is full of bad things, like hard water. When a water heater is trying to warm up hard water, it collects calcium deposits and the heating elements get corroded. When the corrosion gets too bad, it stops working. So, if we want to avoid that then we need to install a water softener or get water from a different source to protect the heating element.

If you want to avoid being stuck taking cold showers, stay away from hard water and replace the heating element often. Luckily, we don't have to worry about the cost, we have a friend who gives us free heating elements anytime we need them.

PS: I just realized that in my analogy, Buhl is the hydrological version of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Wow! This week was really good. I know because it felt like a few days, but looking back it contained a month of top quality content. Service: We did service at the Barnyard again. This week they had us pound in like 20 T-posts. They fenced in their entire front yard because too many chickens crossed the road. T: "We just can't figure out what it is that they want out there in the road..." Me (In my mind because I'm not that bold): An escape from their cruel existence? Anyway, I still saw the pig. This is the sow, they moved her in on her own because she is going to have babies and they don't want the other pigs to eat them... Pigs are pigs. S: On Tuesday, we went to read the Book of Mormon with S. As we were talking to him, he told us to follow him to the basement house to see if we could pick up his ammo can full of pennies. Rest assured, we are staying VERY busy.

HOLA!  [Warm-up] Ok, I'm just gonna start writing because I don't even know what to say to get myself started typing. The smoke came back and I'm not too happy about that. Maybe I'll delete this when I am done, maybe not. Only time will tell. Last Preparation day we went to the Steadmans in Raft River. We got to do the slides without water. It didn't work too well, so it kinda just turned into a competition to see who could make it the farthest. We also did the zipline. That was pretty fun. Especially if you use the slide blankets as a cape. We did service again at the barnyard. We helped pick some of the vegetables I helped plant  4 MONTHS AGO?!?!!?  Time really needs to chill out, we got way too many vegetables and are scrambling to use them for something before they go bad. Ok, it is time to write an email detailing this weeks events. (Alternative Subject Line was "Mountains to Climb", but I went with the best quote from Sunday School this week instead) Last preparation day we went hiking with half of the district in Sun Valley.  Sun Valley is home to the world’s first chair lift, and we hiked the mountain (Proctor) that it was constructed on. Here are pictures (feat. TREES!?!): Our [not] pet was meowing and patting at the window by Elder Silva's bed when we got up in the morning (we are on the second floor). So we opened the window to take it back downstairs.  Elder Silva likes lint rollers. Another perk of serving in Sun Valley is that we have a mountain in our backyard. So for our morning exercise on Saturday we tried to see how far up we could get before we had to go back. We had some members come with us.
