Come on dude bro!

Hola!  It's 2019, there is snow on the ground, Elder Silva and I are staying in Sun Valley until at least Valentine’s Day. Also, the Sun Valley Elders are now the Sun Valley Sisters, so two fewer exchanges will be nice.

BIG NEWS:
We had a mission-wide phone conference on Wednesday night and they notified us that in July the Nampa mission would be dissolved and become part of the Boise mission.

Also, everything east of Mountain Home will break off and become part of the Idaho Pocatello Mission. All of this excitement will happen during my LAST TRANSFER. That is all we know for now, but we will get more info at Zone Conference later in the month.

Not as big news:

We didn't go sledding last week, but we had 4-5 inches of snow on Sunday morning and we got another 6-8 inches last night. There was so much snow, they DELAYED school in HAILEY! So sledding will definitely be happening!

That is all I have for today! Happy New Year!

Hello mom! Happy New Year!

1. Do you need anything? Any questions for me?

Right now I'm doing really well! Thanks for the chips!

Where are the missionaries in our ward from now? Any new ones?

2. Best meal this week?

Woo, um, we had some brisket with a family yesterday. It wasn't planned but they had leftovers and we didn't have a dinner appointment. It was really good. Especially the baked beans. We also went to this Thai restaurant in Hailey.

3. Best day this week?

This week was a blur. Wednesday was nice. We got to say bye to Elder Quiner and Kennedy.

4. What challenged you this week?

Tuesday was rough because we didn't know what was going to happen that night. The thing that challenged me the most was probably walking from our house to an area in Bellevue to save miles. It wasn't too cold, but windy.

5. What made you laugh this week?

We jumped into the snow...

I can't think of anything in particular that was just super over the top funny. I guess we did have to do some pretty crazy maneuvering when some guy blocked us in a parking lot. It wasn't really funny but it was something.

Oh yeah, yesterday when we went to a members house he had his son over. They are funny when they talk to each other. It's like dad and grandpa. The subject line is a direct quote that was repeated frequently.

6. Will you still be doing a *million exchanges this transfer? *give or take

Just 7! Sun Valley Sisters take a little bit of the load off.

7. What are you studying? What did you learn?

Slacking. I'm still reading Ether. I read something in chapter 3 though that was neat. The Lord says that he had never shown himself unto man before the brother of Jared. Which we know he had to have. So Jeffery R. Holland explained that it was because the Brother of Jared was the first to see him solely because of how great his faith was.

Also, we know that Laman and Lemuel complained the whole time when they had to go back to Jerusalem to get the Brass Plates. But most people don't notice that they didn't complain even once when they were asked to go back to get wives.

I can't take credit for that one, it was in a talk we listened to but it was a good point!

8. Best lesson given or teaching opportunity/moment?

We were teaching a lesson to a lady who was at one point in her life another religion. She said that they told her she wouldn't be a "real" witness unless she stopped trying to understand what other people believe. She told us that if we didn't listen to her and ask questions we wouldn't still be teaching her. We told her that she would be a great MTC teacher. LISTEN TO PEOPLE! Was drilled in our heads often.

9. What do you usually eat for breakfast?

I'm sorry. Sometimes oatmeal, sometimes leftovers, other times pop tarts. Most often a handful of skittles... I'M SORRY OK. They're almost gone so I'll have to go back to real food soon.

10. ALL the details about the mission boundary changes in July please. Is there a new map? When will you know what mission you’re in? Wherever you are the transfer before July 1? I have so many questions! Some missionary moms have already gotten letters/maps/details of how it’s going down in different missions affected by the merges/changes. So I’m all - let’s hear it...

So all that we know so far is that in July (the beginning of July, when President and Sister Bartlett were going to leave anyway) they are shaking up all of the missions in Idaho. The Nampa mission will be dissolved into the Boise mission and the Twin Falls half of the Boise mission (East of Mtn. Home) will be in the Pocatello mission. The Pocatello mission will be losing the Blackfoot area, which will become part of the Idaho Falls Mission. Each mission is going to have 2 temples.

We will get more info at zone conference at the end of the month!

Love you!

-Spencer
