Patos Locos...
OK!
This week! If you don't want to read the rest here is the important bit: I am staying in Hansen with Elder Snow.
Ok, moving on
then.
On Monday we
had preparation day. Me and Elder Snow went to Cafe Rio and got a car wash.
After that we played basketball and I took a picture, which is at the top of
the page.
Afterwards we visited
people and did the missionary stuff.
QOTD:
"So when we ballin'? 😎" -E.M.
Tuesday was basically in the shadow of the
transfer calls that were going to come later that night. We had steak for
dinner. We visited a few investigators with one of our Bishops. Then we found
out we were staying. Elder Snow is now my first companion for more than 1
transfer. CONGRATULATIONS ELDER SNOW!
Wednesday was quite productive. We planned to
contact a ton of people, and a lot of them cancelled, but we still got to talk
to quite a few of them.
Thursday was transfer day, but it is the first time I
had to miss the big transfer party. We did meet our new district leader though.
Only one of the missionaries in our district changed.
Friday was a day we lost our key. So that was
stressful, but then we found it and it was all better. We had several
appointments cancel. And Paul told us a lot about what goes down at a
dairy.
QOTD:
"Honestly guys, just don't let him do it" -EK
Saturday was a day tambien we really had a TON of
appointments cancel though. So we had to make up backup-backup plans. We talked
to Frank. Frank honestly needs to record an audio book.
QOTD: "Everyone
is moving around, but they don't know where they are going." -FT
Sunday we had a good day, we forgot that the
Superbowl was a thing. So that may have been why not many people open their
doors. We did teach the Restoration with the game playing right next to us.
That took self-control (I actually looked over a few times. I'm sorry)
TODAY IS PREPARATION
DAY AND I MAY HAVE WAITED TOO LONG TO UPLOAD MY PICTURES I'M SORRY!
duolingo is great, I
can't let Elder Ruesch pass me. I cannot lose.
Love you all!
Love your neighbor!
Bye.
I'm just gonna dump
them. Sorry for the no context pictures. (keep scrolling for pics)
Q & A
HI! I LOVE YOU!
Figured I'd put that first this time. Ok that being said. YES! I am still in
HANSEN/MURTAUGH! Now to answer your questions
1.
How has the technology (smart phone) helped you on your mission so far? The technology is
nice. I can spend more time writing emails now because music is on my phone. We
also have the Area Book Planner, we can see our area. We also noticed that one
of the families we are teaching are pretty far out of our area, even though
their parents are in the Murtaugh Ward. That and we have the LDS Pamphlets app.
You should download it. It's pretty great. Anyway Gospel Library is also
amazing. And Duolingo is a thing we can use.
2. Afraid to ask, but is there a 6 month tradition involving
fire or anything else I might cringe at? You
are supposed to burn a tie. Idk if I will though. I might burn like a twist tie
with a candle or something just to secure.
3. Do you know if any of the Spanish Speaking areas of your
mission are bike areas? Just something we were wondering about because farms
and wide open spaces. 🚲 Nope,
they are all pretty big and have cars. The smallest is probably Jerome. BTW,
hardly any of the Spanish Elders moved. Just Elder Royal and Elder Millares.
Also, they closed the Mtn. Home Spanish area.
4. Best thing that happened this week? E
came to church again.
5. Best meal this week? Steak with one of our Bishops.
6. When did you feel the spirit the strongest this week? Testimony
Meeting this Sunday was pretty spiritual. We went to the branch again.
7.
How are E and E progressing? We may have to drop E We have tried our best but he won't keep
commitments. E is doing great though!
8. Do
you need anything? Another one of those
phone suction grip stand thingies that I had before would be nice. If you could
find one with a potato on it, that would be legendary. But I'm doing fine
really!
9.
What made you laugh this week? We had a sighting of the Green Machine. It takes kids to a local church of another denomination. We had heard about it because we have
investigators who just let their kids go there on Sundays kinda like day care. Also, just Hansen in
general. Occasionally there are just massive (about 15-20 cars or 78% of
Hansen) meetings at the community center and we just assume it is that scene
from Legacy where they are like "SOON... You're gonna have a Mormon
sheriff... THEN! You're gonna have Mormon judges!" We just occasionally
quote that and it makes me laugh.
10. What are you currently studying in addition to the BOM 85
day reading challenge? The Acts, I'm reading it with the Institute manual. Cool
stuff.
Love you again!
Also we get to go to
the Temple next week! First time since the CCM!
