Time Out Please, Ocho?

Hey! It's Christmastime here. It didn't even wait until Thanksgiving was over!

SNOW!

Last preparation day was a strange one because half of our district was literally all the way in Africa. So we didn't do anything special. We did go to the river at the end of preparation day (5:30, it was already dark, and very cold)

Can You See How Cold It Is?

 District Activity

Oh, and how can I forget? We got transfer calls and we are both STAYING another 6 weeks here! They changed our area a bit, we no longer have to go all the way down to Shoshone, but we now also have another set of elders in our district, so that will be fun!

Staying!

We did some more service splitting and stacking wood, and we also got to help burn some wood too. Elder Silva had some pants that were ruined. So in honor of his recently passed 18-month mark, fueron quemados. (they were burned, but in Peruvian)

LAST THING!

We have started the Light the World initiative! The theme for this year is "Give as He Gave". I'll add the link to the bottom of this email. Watch it and participate! It is important to remember the reason we are celebrating Christmas. The best gift we can give (to others AND ourselves) is to follow His example!

Love you all!

Q & A

Hi Mom! I'm glad y'all had a good Thanksgiving! Elder Silva and I got full REALLY FAST! (Only two plates). I've turned into a lightweight.

I see you watched the Silva Snow Angel Video. He insisted. He wanted to send it to his family (no snow in Peru).

I do miss talking to the old folks (you can tell Grandpa I said that if you want) they always have some cool stories (Grandpa's pet monkey).

1. Do you need/want anything? Christmas is coming!

I really can't think of anything right now! Thank you for your top-quality emails!

2. Best meal this week?

Thanksgiving! We ate with the same family that made us the 3-D printed temples and some others that they had invited as well!

3. Most rewarding day this week?

Friday was really nice. We spent almost the entire day doing service because of the snow. Also, I've gotten quite good at driving on ice skating rinks.

4. What did you learn this week?

OK, I'm going to use this question to fill you in on the craziness of this transfer.

I have to go on 9 exchanges this transfer. This is going to be something kinda interesting.

They created the Shoshone Spanish area. (At the request of Elder Silva, He has SWAY).

Albion is now it's own area (along with Elba and Almo). Sister Lafitaga is there.

Declo only covers Declo and Springdale, RIP.

Hagerman is it's own area now, Hermanas are there.

They Split the Boise Spanish area into two different areas. Elder Snow is training.

We have an Italian missionary in our district now.

yep. Lots of stuff happened.

 5. What made you laugh this week?

When we found out Elder Baker was coming to our District! Also, Elder Arbon finally got sent to a SPANISH AREA!

Also, the ward mission leader was playing his Spotify playlist (previous missionaries showed him how to use it) while we were splitting wood with him. He is dad, just older, so he was actually alive when the music came out. Eagles, Led Zepplin, Doobie Bros, Etc.

6. Any questions for me?

Anything happening at the Thomas Cemetery?

7. Uplifting quote or scripture of the week?

So, basically the entirety of the talk "Lord, I believe" by Jeffrey R Holland. I used it a bit in my talk yesterday. It is now one of my favorites of all time.

8. Most challenging day this week?

Yesterday was kinda difficult. But it was ultimately OK. We had to give talks in the Spanish group. That always makes me a bit nervous. It went well though.

 9. Are you staying warm? Winter is here!

YES MA'AM WE ARE! We have a massive bag of hand warmers that are being put to good use. Also, shoveling snow warms you up pretty good!

10. Winter p-day activities in Hailey?

Nothing yet. Technically “winter sports” aren't allowed. So you could say we are on THIN ICE!! HA. HAHAHA. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

OK, I'll finish my weekly email now, I think I'm a little over-time! Love You!
