Cajita Feliz!
All I
have to say is transfers are next week and if I have to leave there will be
weeping/wailing/gnashing of teeth. I'll get over it eventually, but I will have
to listen to "I'll Go Where You Want Me to Go" on repeat for the
first few weeks.
We did service
splitting and stacking wood. Then we delivered it to a house north of
Ketchum.
Trust me, it was a lot
more fun than it sounds.
It has also been a
really good week for teaching the Gospel. We managed to find almost 10 people
who wanted to learn more in just the last two days of the week. So that turned
this past week around quickly. Then we had 4 people come to church. The total
number of new people we were able to have at church this transfer is now 4!!!
(THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE HAD ANYBODY!)
We also got to talk to
a recent convert from one of my previous areas! He is really busy right now,
but in the next few weeks hopefully we will get to keep teaching him!
The other spiritual
highlight from this week was zone conference. We are getting ready to start the
Light the World initiative again. Which is essentially a "Be more Christ
like" campaign for Christmas. It is a really great thing and everyone
enjoyed it last year, even those that don't share our beliefs.
Plus I got to see this
consecrated servant of the Lord:
Anyway, here are the
pictures I have from this week. Sorry they are so low quality. I'll work on my
photography skills this next week (while doing missionary work of course)

Q & A
Hello
Mom! This week was another really good week. Here are the answers to your
questions!
1. Do
you need anything? (Christmas wish list/ideas would be nice)
Right now I think I'm
good.
2.
What are you studying?
3.
What did you learn this week?
I finished El Dia de
la Defensa. It has a chart in there of when/where/how the apostles were killed.
It wasn't good. It makes it pretty apparent that the Roman Empire was probably
not given the authority after they died considering what they did to the
Apostles. (Well, before Constantine made Christianity ok)
4.
Best meal this week?
We had these meatballs
with the N family. But the lasagna we had with the T’s was also good. So a tie
between those two.
5.
Best day this week?
Yesterday we had a
really good lesson and then we had dinner with the T. family. So yesterday was
a really good day.
6.
How’s the finding/teaching going?
Pretty good, we only
found 9 new people to teach this week and we had 4 at church. We are getting
better though. (This actually has been the best week here yet (as far as
numbers go)) The best part is the people we found are actually interested and
really believe what we are teaching them, and therefore are actually willing to
do things, like come to church and read the Book of Mormon.
7.
How is the 2 hour block going to change missionary Sunday responsibilities - no
longer teaching Sunday School?
It is going to be a
lot easier to convince people to come to church. Especially if they need a ride
and don't want to commit to the full 3 hour block. We normally don't have to
teach Sunday School anyway. We just get asked on rare occasions. In Hansen,
they had us do it more often, but that was a year ago now. (btw: THAT WAS A
YEAR AGO NOW?!?!)
8.
What made you laugh this week?
So many things. I got
a happy meal. Elder Silva took a picture of me with the happy meal (I wanted
the toy). Cajita Feliz in Spanish means Happy Little Box, that's what they call
them in Spanish. McDonalds isn't my favorite still.
Also, something that made me kinda chuckle was that we got a referral from some missionaries we didn't know. They set the address as "call Hailey Johnson". So it came to "Hailey Idaho" We called them to figure out who "Hailey Johnson" was and found out they were in Billings Montana. The sister missionary on the phone is from the same stake as Elders Snow, Jensen, Collins, Smith, and several other AZ boys in this mission. They also knew Elder Slade (from the Searcy stake), so that was cool.
9.
Most challenging day this week?
I don't remember what
day it was. The challenge was that we didn't have appointments so we had to
spend the morning and early afternoon knocking doors in the cold and nobody
answered. (Idaho missionary problems) But hey! At least we didn't get eaten by
a Jaguar!
10.
Any questions for me?
California is on fire
again? Who are the new missionaries in the ward?
Ok,
I'll get on that weekly email now. Idk what to include so it may be abridged
but I'll keep the good stuff in!
