Howdy! I am currently in a U-haul store in Twin Falls waiting for our car to get a hitch installed for a bike rack. So now I get to write emails from my phone! Who knew I'd be lucky enough to do this twice in a row!
This past preparation day was quite hectic, we spent the whole day running errands and stuff. As the week went on, we had interviews with President Bartlett. I asked him a question about some verses in Isaiah and he gave me a little bit of an explanation, but then told me to just study the chapter more in depth. Long story short: I LOVE Isaiah now. I don't always understand what every reference or symbol means, but as a whole it is really powerful. It surprised me how often it says "thus saith the Lord" meaning it is the Savior speaking directly through Isaiah.
OK, obligatory barnyard pictures. They had some kittens born this week. They are very small. I was on exchanges with Elder Royal when these were taken:
Also, the Potato and Sugar Beet harvest is in full swing! Got some pics of
Agriculture In Action:
We have still been working hard and meeting people in this area. We have seen a lot of success and found many people who are interested in learning more about the Gospel.
The miracle of the week was that we found out that there is an inactive family with baptism-age kids in our area that we had never heard of nor met before. We went to visit them and their mother opened the door and told us that she wasn't interested. As we talked to her, a very large cat walked by named Gaston (not Elder). This reminded Elder Livingston of an even larger, but similar looking cat he had taken a picture with in Buhl. While he was looking for a picture of the cat, she invited us to come in the house. When we came in the kids wanted to talk to us so we met them and showed them the picture of the cat. They were excited to see the missionaries. This changed their mother's entire attitude about the situation. She said that she had lost her faith, but she still wanted her kids to learn about God. I asked the kids if they wanted to learn about Jesus, they excitedly shook their heads.
So, inspired fat cat is inspired. If we hadn't kept the conversation going just a few minutes longer, we would have left and everything would still be the same for that family. Huge miracle.
That's all for this week. The only other news I have is that Malta is on fire again! Literally! As of Sunday anyway, maybe that have it out by now.
This subject line came from a hotel marquee in Twin Falls that I saw just as we were leaving.
What is Forrest Gump's wifi password?

Love you all! Stay safe and have a good week!

Q & A
1. Do you need anything? Did your earmuffs arrive? Yes! I got the ear muffs too. They are nice. I wonder how many engineers and marketing experts it took to create manly looking ear muffs...
2. Do you have any questions for me? Was there one guy who compiled the old testament? What was his name and how did he do it? How the Bible Came to Be: Part 1 Part 2
3. Best meal this week? We had some really good tacos with a family in Albion. They were definitely white tacos, but they were really good white tacos.
4. Best day this week? Friday was really fun. I was on exchanges with Elder Royal and we got a lot done. Busiest (and most productive) day=best day
5. Funniest moment this week? I was trimming Elder Livingston's neck (he just buzzes his own hair) while we were in a district group call. Nobody knew what was going on as he was giving me directions and we didn't realize they could hear us...
It was pretty funny!
6. What did you learn this week? We met a guy who worked with President Hansen for Darigold. Apparently President Hansen grew up in Acequia. (President Hansen is presiding over the Arkansas Little Rock Mission)
7. Spiritual highlight this week? Other than the temple, we gave a blessing to J because his cancer came back. That was really cool and spiritual.
8. Song on repeat lately? hmm, I got a song called Wonderful God by Montell Fish. It sounds cool so I like it.
9. What are you studying? Isaiah. You should read Isaiah 65, there is a verse in there that mentions the elect of God living in Zion duding their millennium with their offspring. Meaning if you are of God's covenant people (the new and everlasting covenant) , you will live eternally as a family. This is in the old testament. Also, Saints is really good, READ IT!
10. Best thing about being a missionary? idk, it's all just fun. And you don't get to do it all the time. I often times sit there and think, how did I get here?
