Drink a glass of water with 4 ice cubes in it.

Oh yeah! Transfers happened this week! NOTHING CHANGED! I am still here in the beautiful land of Declo with my soon to be longest-time companion Elder Blashill.

There were a few good stories this week but I don't remember when they happened.

One of them was when we visited a less active member who used to be a detective. Anyway, after our visit we told him about transfers and mentioned that there was a missionary who was on his 5th transfer in a very slow, low population area. He said, "Tell him to drink a glass of water with 4 ice cubes in it". We asked him how that would help and he responded, "It won't, but at least you have something to tell him."

We also had a less active member we visited and read the Book of Mormon with. We told him that repentance and taking the sacrament are like getting baptized again. His face lit up, it made us really happy. He hasn't been to church in 30+ years and he said that he was going to come soon. So big progress there!

The last one is that we got to meet with the Peruvian investigator again and he accepted a baptismal date for the 30th of June!

Lots of miracles up here!

Thursday:

Transfer day for everyone else, normal Thursday for us! We stopped at a house and he needed help assembling an entertainment center. ~60 parts and 3 root beer breaks later we got it done!

Friday:

We did a lot of service that day! We helped plant potatoes (the 2nd most Idaho thing we did this week) at the barnyard with T. Then we went back to Albion to finish helping J. This time we helped transport his new TV across town. I sat in the back of the side x side to hold the TV secure. Then we helped him get it set up!

Saturday:

We did the most Idaho thing I have done yet. We had a meeting with one of our bishops. But he was busy so we went out to his field and he parked his tractor so we could meet with him.

Sunday:

Sunday! We had several Meetings to go to. We didn’t have many appointments but we did get to eat snow cones with ice cream in the bottom and condensed milk on top. It was really good! I don't think I can go back to normal snow cones.

Monday:

Today we got recruited to help out with summer seminary! So we left a little bit early for Burley and that’s why this email is a little bit late. After that we got haircuts and went to City of Rocks! It was one of the coolest things I've done up here. We climbed bath rock! So enjoy these pictures and if you don't enjoy them, all I can tell you is to sit back, and drink a glass of water with 4 ice cubes in it.

Love you all! Stay safe!

HI MOM!! Thanks for the email! Hope Syd feels better soon! I like that my trees are doing well.

Q & A

1. Do you need anything? Not really much right now. I do need to buy some meds this week.

2. Best meal this week? Well, they were all pretty good. We were playing basketball with some kids outside and their dad gave us some ribs. I haven't had ribs in a while so those were good!

3. Best day this week? Saturday was really slow at first, but we had a really good appointment that night that made it better. We have a new investigator with a baptismal date! June 30th

4. Mission birthday plans? So today is going to be an interesting day. We are currently in the Burley Family History Library. We went to summer seminary this morning (extra credit, kids who like seminary) to recite the 1st vision. So we are in Burley first. We are getting haircuts at 11:30 and then we will go to Walmart and change so that we can go to the CITY of ROCKs! Because of this I will probably still have time to send emails later this afternoon and I probably will do it that way since we have haircuts pretty soon right now. So don't panic if I don't send the emails until this afternoon.

5. What made you laugh this week? Well, we were helping a guy build his new entertainment center and hook up his 65" TV. We got the TV from his mom's old house that had 3 young people living in it who were interesting characters. It smelled STRONGLY of weed. They assumed we were oblivious. But they had like 6 Scented candles in the window and 2 empty cans of Febreze trying to mask it. Also, I showed Elder Blashill the proper way of eating an Oreo with milk. He made a video and I was listening to dramatic music. I laughed a bit after that too.

6. Any questions for me this week? Yes! How did City of Rocks form? City of Rocks Geology

7. What did you learn this week? I was reading about signs in the new Gospel Topics section in Gospel Library.  "Signs are not given to produce faith but to confirm faith and to bless the faithful."

8. What challenged you this week? I had really bad allergies or something like that 2 days in a row this week. Huge motivation killer to not sleep at night or to take Benadryl and not get any benefit from sleeping, but it is gone now. So that is good.

9. What are you studying? Exodus and Mormon!

10. How’s the finding and teaching going in your area? The teaching is going really well. Finding isn't great but for perspective: There are 300ish students that attend Declo High School, 200ish are enrolled in seminary. Not all members are enrolled in Seminary and not all of the non-members (and their families) at the high school live in our area. So finding is more of a precision approach to finding a needle in a haystack. And most of the needles have already been found. We just need the right needle. Which we have right now, thus the reason the teaching part is going well!

OK! I'm going to try to get started on at least a draft of the weekly email! We will go to City of Rocks at 1:30 so we will be at the Malta building to finish writing emails sometime around 3 or 4!

LOVE YOU!
