Elder Spencer Hazeslip

Ok. So here is what happened. On preparation day we got our smartphones! Except Elder Snow, his wasn't there yet. We weren't allowed to turn it on, but I plugged it in and when the green battery thing came on we got scared and hid. It was freaky. I have pretty much gone 5 1/2 months without using one of those things. On Tuesday we did missionary stuff with ward missionaries. The lessons went well. Also... QOTD: "I heard a little secret down in Alabama” -J.R. On Wednesday we passed our home inspection. And taught two lessons in Spanish. QOTD: "He just does weird things."  -E.M. Thursday we got to turn on the Smartphone and activate the Big Brother stuff on it, so I took a selfie with my companion. On Friday we did the zone conference thing! It was really good. I was told to unlearn everything I thought I knew about technology. President Bartlett asked us what GIF stood for. I said Graphic Interchange Format, apparently ...

Tuesday: Preparation Day! We got a map of TWIN FALLS at the Visitor's Center by the canyon. They have a Tesla Supercharger Station there and there were a lot of Teslas there. I have pics of the canyon. We also bought stuff and did emails and played some sports ball. Wednesday: We went dairy hunting in Murtaugh. We found some new worker housing units. Thursday: We had a new format of weekly planning that we did. Friday: 3 appointments cancelled. Saturday: EXCHANGES! I was with Elder Erwin in our area. We were going to go to Murtaugh but that appointment cancelled. It was a pretty slow day but Elder Erwin said he enjoyed it. Yeah. Glad we saved the miles by not driving 3/4 the way to Oakley. Sunday: Pretty normal day. I had to give a talk in the Spanish Branch. It actually went pretty well. I used the time I was supposed to and I did it in Spanish. After that we went and visited a few investigators for the Spanish Branch. An...

Well. We had to wait a bit longer for another preparation day it seems. Smartphone day is in fact January 27th!! Ok here goes the semana Monday: I got a haircut and was staring blankly into the distance while we got a car wash. Elder Snow laughed about this later on. Tuesday: The day of insanity. We drove to Boise. We had some training. Everyone thought we were going to get smartphones early but that didn't happen. It was still cool though. There was pizza. After that we drove down to Burley to drop off the Elders we took up to Boise and went back to Hansen. This was the end of the day. lots and lots of driving. fun times. but really though, it was pretty fun. Wednesday: We had a district meeting and went to Murtaugh for dinner afterwards. Then we had an appointment fall through followed by another appointment that went really well. Thursday: Weekly Planning followed by T & T as usual. Then we went to a very interesting les...

This was the Lit-ist week. Tuesday: Preparation day went well. Bought some more music at Deseret Book. We had enough time to play some sports ball at the church. Then we went and did some teaching and stuff. Also didn't get a haircut so that now has priority this week. We had a kind of all over the place lesson with an investigator that eventually ended up being worthwhile because she said the closing prayer. So that was good. Wednesday: We started updating our progress records better so we can see that we are actually doing work and stuff. As a result we found and taught a new investigator today. Also, we found out that President Thomas S. Monson died. It was something we all knew was going to happen soon but it was weird to think that he wasn't here anymore, especially since he has been the president of the church since I was 9. Later on we visited a few families and had a fairly productive day. Wednesday: Kinda slower day. Not much really happened. We may have found a new investigator so that was cool, but we didn't get to teach any lessons really. Thursday: Weekly Planning pretty much took up all of our morning as usual. Then we had a District meeting on top of it! Then we had studies! Then we had dinner! Then we had a Coordination Meeting! Then the appointment we had fell through.
