The Dash is Done (2017-2019)

HELLO EVERYBODY! I'll make this quick because I want to go sledding again (and Elder Silva does too). This week was Christmas! I got to see the fam! And as quickly as it came, it was done.  So we went back to work. Transfers are this week so we had our last District Council meeting with the Carey District. After District Council, I went on exchanges (the last one of this transfer, and year for that matter) with Elder Miller, in JEROME! It was a good time. We are pretty isolated up in Sun Valley, so it was cool to see some other missionaries! Funny Story of the week: We were calling former people being taught Sunday night. One of them was the wrong number. Elder Silva started speaking in Spanish because the way the guy said "hello" sounded very Spanish. The man responded (trying his hardest), "umm, sorry seƱor. uh, the numbero, uh, is not the correcto". I was rolling. Christmas is done, 2018 (my "dash" year) is done,...

Christmas! Yep, that is the entire subject line, if you want details read the email (it is a good one though)

Hello everyone! Merry Christmas Eve!  This week was once again good! I went on two more exchanges, one with Elder Melton from Indiana and the other with Elder Kennedy from Italy! It snowed with Elder Melton. (Pic at top) I made venison nachos with Elder Kennedy:     Here is your funny story for the week. Elder Silva and I were knocking doors to share Light the World with people and these two Spanish-speaking men let us in (story translated for convenience). We shared it with them and asked where they were from and they told us they were from Nyarit. I said, "It seems like half of the people here are from Mexico, the other half are Peruvians". The older of the two men then went on a rant about Peruvians (they are all over the place, can't get rid of them, etc). Anyway, then the other asked, "So you two are both just from Idaho then?" ... Elder Silva: "no actually I'm from Peru"  The younger guy then starts laughi...

My Mission but every time I go on exchanges it gets 2x faster and more distorted.

Lots of pictures, not many words So, first exchange this week was with Elder Bonds from California!  Thursday afternoon we started another exchange, Elder Baker from Utah!    Friday afternoon I went on exchanges with Elder Woodin from Utah!  When we started the exchange it was cold and windy so we had lunch at the snack bar in Shoshone and it was good.  Other than that, not too much craziness is happening up here other than snow/rain/stuff.  Sunday was a really good day because we gave talks in church and so did a missionary who is leaving for the MTC this week. We had two people at church who had never come before. Our ward mission leader spoke about his conversion story and it was just a really good sacrament meeting. Hopefully both of them come back next week with their families! Stay safe and warm everybody! NEXT WEEK IS CHRISTMAS! -Elder Hazeslip Other pics from the week:  Richfield5 ...

Hello friends and family. I will begin telling you about the events of this past week! On Monday I went on exchanges in Gooding with Elder Quiner of Kenai, Alaska.   Elder Quiner Took The Selfie This Time  Big City Gooding   We had a wonderful time preaching the gospel and ended the day with the most fine oriental cuisine Gooding, Idaho has to offer. The next major event of the week was the Hailey 1st Ward Christmas Program: "A Night in Bethlehem"  People were invited to come dressed in biblical attire, and they were given some plastic coins to purchase things while they were in town. (Also to pay taxes to the Roman empire) We were called to serve gyros. (I don't think that they had those in 0 AD {or BC} but they tasted good so no complaints)  Gyro Merchant Afterwards we helped put away some of the decorations and discovered that the church building has a basement, which is where they store...
