Elder Spencer Hazeslip

This week went all over the place. But it can be broken into 3 major events. Exchanges in Gooding: Right after Preparation Day ended last week, I went to Gooding Idaho with Elder LaVin. We had a good time. Their area used to be covered by two different sets of missionaries, but it currently just has one since our mission is low on missionaries. The result is that there are a lot of people there who are ready to learn more about the gospel for the missionaries who are there.  The Gooding missionaries also cover a small city called Fairfield. It is closer to Bellevue (where we live) so we planned the exchange to end on a day that they would be working up there. As we drove to the top of the hill between Gooding and Fairfield we saw a sign and a cool view, so we pulled over to take a picture. Ok, it is time to write an email detailing this weeks events. (Alternative Subject Line was "Mountains to Climb", but I went with the best quote from Sunday School this week instead) Last preparation day we went hiking with half of the district in Sun Valley.  Sun Valley is home to the world’s first chair lift, and we hiked the mountain (Proctor) that it was constructed on. Here are pictures (feat. TREES!?!): Our [not] pet was meowing and patting at the window by Elder Silva's bed when we got up in the morning (we are on the second floor). So we opened the window to take it back downstairs.  Elder Silva likes lint rollers. Another perk of serving in Sun Valley is that we have a mountain in our backyard. So for our morning exercise on Saturday we tried to see how far up we could get before we had to go back. We had some members come with us. Hola! Here we are again. This week has gone by very quickly due to the fact that life is currently quite good. Here is a recap (with pictures). Obligatory "Welcome to [New area]" picture. (above) We went to Carey for the first time. On the way we drove through a town called "Picabo" (Peek-A-Boo) not even kidding. We actually thought it was Carey when we first got there but we found out that it was still around another bend.  We found a few people there that spoke Spanish and were able to spend a good part of the day there. Carey borders the Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve. So we got out of the car and took some pictures with the lava. We also went to the other small towns that we cover now. One of which is called Richfield. Richfield is located in the middle of nowhere. 🌄 (Sun [in a] Valley) (Because that is where I am) Yep, I got transferred out of Declo. It was hard saying goodbye to all the people that I met down there but it is time to move on to something new. Our last preparation day was pretty fun though, we went to Mt. Harrison and Lake Cleveland again. There was some snow and frost up there already, so WINTER IS COMING.   Bye Declo: Saw some cool people at transfers though! Also, my new companion is Elder Silva!
